Tagua nuts are often called "Vegetable Ivory". Once the nuts dry, they are hard like ivory, the inside color of the nut is ivory color, and the ivory color antiques just like ivory does. Antiquing means that the ivory color starts shading to a brown or gold color.

We were able to obtain some tagua nut figurines at a reduced price since they're starting to age and antique. We're passing this savings along to you. Helping the artisans in this way maintains the demand level for their figurines and enables them to continue their craft.
