Zardozi, an ancient form of Persian embroidery, often graced the royal court's silks, velvets and
brocades with its intricate gold and silver cross-stitch patterns.
Handmade by female artisans of Zardozi Markets for Afghan Artisans,
this non-governmental organization (NGO) in Afghanistan is committed to helping artisans find
markets for their crafts.
The organization grew from the DACAAR Sewing Center,
which coordinated income generation projects to help 3000+
Afghan families living in Pakistani refugee camps afford schooling and health care.
